Partnering with JW Pepper My Score
Making my original wind band music more accessible to band directors and educators everywhere has always been at the heart of what I do as a composer. Today, I’m excited to share an important milestone: TuckerMW and TMW Press have officially partnered with JW Pepper and their My Score program to distribute my wind band compositions directly to music educators across the country.
This partnership represents more than just a new avenue to buy music. It creates meaningful connections between my compositions and the directors and students who will bring them to life.
Why JW Pepper? A Trusted Name in Music Education
For over 150 years, JW Pepper has been the go-to resource for music educators seeking quality sheet music and reliable service. As the world’s largest sheet music retailer, they’ve built their reputation on understanding exactly what band directors need: quick access, professional quality, and dependable customer support.
When considering where to buy music or where to buy sheet music for your ensemble, directors often want a partner who understands the unique demands of music education. JW Pepper delivers on this promise, which is why I’m thrilled to make my wind band works available through their platform.
Their JW Pepper My Score program takes this commitment even further by offering composers like me the opportunity to self-publish and distribute high-quality music directly to educators. It’s a model that benefits everyone: directors gain access to fresh, original compositions, and composers can share their work with a wider audience while maintaining artistic control.
The Benefits of My Score for Music Educators
The JW Pepper My Score program was designed with band directors in mind, offering several key advantages when you’re ready to buy sheet music for your ensemble:
- Instant Digital Access: Need music quickly? My Score offers immediate digital delivery, allowing you to preview conductor scores and audio recordings before committing to a purchase. This means less waiting and more time for rehearsal preparation.
- Professional Quality: Every composition available through My Score features professional engraving and expertly prepared parts. When you buy music through this program, you’re getting the same quality you’d expect from major publishers.
- Budget-Friendly Options: Music educators often work within tight budgets. My Score provides flexible purchasing options and competitive pricing, making it easier to explore new repertoire without breaking the bank.
- Easy Previewing: Before buying music for your ensemble, you can listen to audio recordings and review full conductor scores. This transparency helps you make informed decisions about whether a piece fits your group’s needs and skill level.
- Reliable Support: JW Pepper’s customer service team is known for their responsiveness and expertise. When you have questions about buying music or need assistance with an order, help is readily available.
My Creative Vision: Where Music Meets Meaning
Before I share where to find my listings, let me tell you a bit about what drives my work as a composer. For me, composing music is a deeply personal and unpredictable process. Inspiration can strike anywhere: a painting, a sound, or even a walk with my dog.
At the heart of every piece is a simple idea, a tiny motive that grows into something larger through time, effort, and an open mind. My goal is to create music that connects emotionally, whether it’s a symphony performed by an orchestra or a wind ensemble piece rich with color and nuance. Each composition is a journey of exploration, built on a foundation of authenticity and craft.
I prefer the tactile process of pencil on manuscript over digital shortcuts, as it slows me down, giving each decision clarity and purpose. This attention to detail ensures that when you buy music I’ve composed, you’re receiving work that has been carefully crafted with performers and audiences in mind.
